Dolce Gusto® capsules use a unique system designed with you in mind.  The capsules are made airtight and this enhances the pressure of extraction in order to create the highest quality consistency and froth with ease every single time.

How Do Dolce Gusto® Capsules Work?

• When a Dolce Gusto® coffee capsule is inserted into the coffee machine, a small needle penetrates the top seal of the capsule.
• Water begins to flow through the capsule and pressure builds.  This process drives the water through the coffee contained in the capsule.
• When the pressure has reached the optimum level, the bottom seal of the capsule breaks to allow coffee to pour into your cup.

For those of you who prefer a cappuccino, latte or other coffee beverage with a milk component, Dolce Gusto® Coffee Capsules make it easy.  Simply insert a milk capsule into your machine, in addition to your coffee capsule.  The pressure created by the capsule system and water moving through the capsule will produce the milky foam you expect with this type of beverage.  (Dolce Gusto® milk capsules consist of whole milk that is free of hormones and slightly sweetened.)
