Kenyan CoffeeTry it Now

If you appreciate a solid, medium roast coffee with a fruity flavor, give Kenyan AA coffee a try.

Kenya coffee is often described as fruity tasting and also as winy. Frequently Kenyan coffees aroma and taste contain subtle hints of chocolate and/or cherry, making it a wonderful coffee for anytime of the day.

Most, though not all, Kenyan coffee comes from beans that grow in an area of Kenya that runs from just south of Mt. Kenya down to the capitol of Kenya, Nairobi.

Kenyan coffee is wet processed, which means the beans are picked when they are ripe, the cherries placed into a depulper, stripped to the green part of the bean, and passed through water chutes that clean them and allow for grading. Beans are then placed in a tank for 24-36 hours to ferment. After fermentation is complete, the beans are removed from the water and allowed to dry.

The coffee is sold by the size of the bean, with AA being the largest, then A, then B beans. The best Kenyan coffee is called Estate Kenyan. It is more expensive than regular AA beans but it is valued for its strong body, winy acidity, and black current (berry) flavor. Its aroma is also quite distinctive and enjoyable, adding to the drinking pleasure.

CoffeeCow sells a delicious Kenya AA blend that has the subtle cherry-chocolate flavoring that Kenyan coffee lovers rave about. Try our Kenyan AA coffee blend, available for your drip coffee maker. If youre looking for a high acidity coffee for your Keurig single cup machine, try our Ethiopian blend, which is a dark roast.
